Peec AI is the AI visibility platform for mid-market companies the engines named most, in 5 of 5 answers (New Map's measurement1). Five answers is a small base, so treat it as a starting list. First, ask the same question on each engine and record who is named.

Which AI visibility platforms do the engines name for mid-market companies?

New Map's measurement counted 5 answers to this exact question across 3 engines and 2 weekly readings: Gemini 2, Perplexity 2, ChatGPT 1. Five answers carry no stated margin of error, so read the table as who appears, not who is best.

The data here lists names only. Prices, features and mid-market fit are not measured yet.

Which sources do the engines cite about AI visibility platforms?

New Map's measurement across 68 discovery questions about AI visibility tools found reddit.com cited in 20 of 146 answers. That is one week's reading of 68 questions about AI visibility tools on 3 engines (146 answers), not a trend: Perplexity cited a source in only 7 of its 68 answers, and Claude Code's 10 answers are too few to read alone.

YouTube came next, cited in 16 of 146 answers (New Map measurement). Those two figures cover the 68 discovery questions, not the mid-market question. For the mid-market question only 5 answers exist.

In those 5 answers, alhena.ai and medium.com were each cited in 2 of 5. The domains athenahq.ai, cognizo.ai, gtm8020.com, help.otterly.ai, honeycomb.io and laminar.sh were cited in 1 of 5 each. Method details are in how New Map measures.

Engines also differ in how much they cite at all. The chart shows sources cited per answer on each engine.

Does the engine you ask change which platforms a mid-market company sees?

On sources, yes. Names were not split by engine in this measurement, so brand overlap is not measured here.

Kevin Indig5, 6 reported that across ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, 91% of citations were unique to a single platform. That counts citations, not names.

Place matters too. Chen and Koudas7 audited 300 questions of ChatGPT across 19 declared locations and tested ChatGPT and Gemini from five network locations, each twice. ChatGPT followed the declared location, while Gemini followed the country of the network. The businesses recommended changed along with the sources.

New Map's measurement found Gemini cited a source in 68 of 68 answers and Perplexity in 7 of 68. Our read: a shortlist from one engine in one country is a partial view, so ask on several engines and from each market you sell in.

Why do AI answers matter to mid-market buyers choosing a platform?

Ahrefs cites Forrester as finding that 94% of business buyers use AI search when buying. The excerpt gives no sample size or date for that figure.

Because the answers shape the shortlist, a list of names is only the first step. Semrush wrote that the Generative AI report in Google Search Console shows impressions only, with no prompt-to-click attribution. Reporting limits like that are worth knowing before you buy.

Use these criteria to compare the companies above, since the measurement gives names only:

  1. Price and contract terms for a company of your size.
  2. Which engines, countries and languages it tracks.
  3. Whether it checks your brand by name as well as discovery questions.
  4. What happens after measuring: fixes drafted, sources placed.
  5. Whether the rates it reports state their sample sizes.

Can a mid-market company change which platforms and brands the engines name?

The evidence shows what goes with being named, not a guaranteed method.

AirOps, quoted by Kevin Indig, reported that third-party signals make up 85% of brand visibility in LLMs. On 8 October 2026, Otterly studied 5.85 million citations and reported that top-recommended brands sourced heavily from evaluative and ranking pages within their categories.

Our sources of leverage are therefore independent pages, not only your own site. New Map runs the measurement above and also sells AI visibility software that places brands in the press and creator sources engines cite, so read its 0 of 5 as a result for its own brand. See plans and pricing, and how a brand's visibility in AI answers is measured.

What to do

  1. Run "AI visibility platforms for mid-market companies" on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity from each market you sell in, and log which companies and domains each answer names and cites.
  2. Check your own brand by name on each engine and fix any fact that differs between your website and what the engines say, starting at the source the engine cited.
  3. Score each company in the table against the five criteria in the fourth section, asking each for price, engine coverage and sample sizes in writing before you shortlist.

Frequently asked

Which platform did the engines name most for mid-market companies?

Peec AI, in 5 of 5 answers in New Map's measurement. Athena, Otterly, Profound, SE Ranking and Semrush were each named in 3 of 5. Five answers is a small base, so it is not a ranking.

Do ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name the same companies?

Not measured by engine here. Kevin Indig reports 91% of citations appear on only one of ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews. That is citations, not names. Ask the question on each engine yourself to see which names repeat.

Was New Map named for this question?

No. New Map's measurement found New Map named in 0 of the 5 answers to this question, across Gemini, Perplexity and ChatGPT over 2 weekly readings. Five answers is a small base.
