What is the white label AI search monitoring?
No white label AI search monitoring tool is named consistently. New Map's measurement1 found Peec AI named in 2 of 5 answers and SE Ranking in 1 of 5, a thin sample. Pick a provider by engine split, repeat runs and location cuts.
What did the engines answer for white label AI search monitoring?
New Map's measurement counted 5 answers to this exact question across 3 engines over 2 weekly readings: Gemini gave 2, Perplexity 2 and ChatGPT 1 (how New Map measures). That is one week's reading of 68 questions about AI visibility tools on 3 engines (146 answers), not a trend: Perplexity cited a source in only 7 of its 68 answers, and Claude Code's 10 answers are too few to read alone.
Two companies were named. Peec AI appeared in 2 of the 5 answers and SE Ranking in 1 of 5. New Map was named in 0 of the 5 answers.
The cited sources were scattered. ansvisor.com, reachllm.com, reddit.com and searcheye.io were each cited in 2 of 5 answers. adventyx.ai, ayzeo.com, discoveredlabs.com and elniq.com were cited in 1 of 5 each.
Five answers over 2 weekly readings are too few to rank vendors. The data shows the names differ by answer. From that, our read is that no tool leads yet. The chart shows how many of the 5 answers named each company.
Which domains do the engines cite when buyers ask about monitoring?
The figures below come from the wider 68-question run on AI visibility tools (146 answers, New Map's measurement), not from the 5-answer white label question. In that run reddit.com was cited in 20 of 146 answers (13.7%) and youtube.com in 16 of 146 (11%). wikipedia.org appeared in 1 of 146 (0.7%).
Gemini cited 629 sources across its 68 answers, 9.3 per answer (New Map measurement). Perplexity cited 21 across its 68, 0.3 per answer. Claude Code's 10 answers are too few to read alone.
Kevin Indig2, 3, writing about an Ahrefs4 study, reported that YouTube mentions and branded web mentions correlated at 0.7 with AI visibility in Google AI Overviews, against 0.3 for Domain Rating. That sits with the domains charted here: a likely reason a monitoring tool should watch video and community sources, not only vendor sites. The chart ranks the domains cited in the most answers.
What does white label monitoring have to measure?
The studies below show citations and answers split by engine and place. From that, our read is that a white label report should show those splits. A report built on those splits lets you see which engines carry your citations, where they appear, and whether the engine's own location rules affect what it shows. Engine split matters because a citation in one AI tool does not mean it appears in others: the Indig data shows 91% of citations appeared in only one engine. Location split matters because some engines follow the user's location setting and others follow the network country, which changes which sources rank. Without these splits, a white label monitor cannot tell you whether a visibility change is real or just an engine favouring different sources in that run. Our guide on how AI visibility is measured covers the method.
| Check | What the study found | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Engine split | 91% of citations appeared in only one of ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews | Kevin Indig, 5 October 2026 |
| Location split | ChatGPT followed declared location, Gemini followed the network country, in 300 audited questions | Chen and Koudas5, 16 October 2026 |
| Country split | Perplexity sent 75.2% of German citations to German-signalled sources, Claude 57.7% | Otterly6, 5 October 2026, 3.95M citations |
| Branded checks | AI Overviews appeared in 82.91% of US desktop branded-keyword results | Ahrefs, 2 October 2026 |
What should white label search monitoring never be mistaken for?
It should not be mistaken for a single run. AirOps7 found only 30% of brands stay visible from one run of an AI answer to the next, and 20% across five consecutive runs of the same prompt. SparkToro found in January 2026, across 2,961 runs, that ChatGPT and Google AI repeated the same brand list in under 1 in 100 runs.
It should not be mistaken for a count of mentions that never separates naming from citing. Ahrefs found in July 2026 that 43% of answers citing a brand's own event page never named the brand (34 pages, 9,886 answers). The diagram shows the reading order a white label report would follow to keep those apart.
What to do
- Ask each provider to show your own question across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity separately, with repeated runs, before you agree to resell its reports.
- Check whether the provider's report separates a brand being named from a page being cited, using the Ahrefs July 2026 finding on event pages as the test.
- Ask any provider which locations it audits, given Chen and Koudas's 16 October 2026 location findings, and compare it against plans and pricing for what each plan measures.
Frequently asked
Which company did the engines name for white label AI search monitoring?
New Map's measurement found Peec AI named in 2 of 5 answers and SE Ranking in 1 of 5, across 3 engines. Five answers are too few to rank vendors.
What should a white label monitoring report show?
It should show results split by engine, repeated runs and location cuts. Chen and Koudas found that ChatGPT followed declared location while Gemini followed the network country, in 300 audited questions.
Why do monitoring results differ between engines?
Kevin Indig reported that 91% of citations appeared in only one of ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews. Engines also differ by location, per Chen and Koudas, 16 October 2026.
